NATION OF SHEEPS, RULED BY WOLVES, OWNED BY PIGS.
I had a long holiday from Khmer New Year here in Cambodia; so after spending a day of celebration in the place where I volunteer, I decided to wander around the neighbouring country that is Thailand.

I had fourteen days to explore.

I can say now that I have experienced a bit of Thailand.
BANGKOK (13.04.2018 / 24.04.2018)

With a one way bus ticket going to Bangkok and no plans in mind, I went on my first ever trip to Thailand. Leaving Siem Reap at 8 in the morning, me and my friend got into the border town of Poipet at noon. It was my first time doing a border crossing.

We arrived in Bangkok a couple hours after that. It was Songkran. Everyone was throwing water at everyone. I had to hide my camera so it doesn't get wet- I unfortunately doesn't have any waterproof cover for it. I did what I have to do, though, I went out and just experience it.

Bangkok is a city full of smiles.
I fell in love with this town.

Talking about routes to go home before getting even more drenched.
Waiting for the bus.
There are a couple of transportation method down here in Bangkok.

It's mostly Taxis for (stupid) me, but there are a lot of easy public transportation that are cheaper and more fun to go with. I saw a lot of people passing by with their water gun on a tuk-tuk, shooting everyone that they pass through. A lot of people are hiding in the bus. The local boat was interesting as well, as it was really cheap and quite fast.
Sawadee Khrup!
The town is always busy of people doing their daily stuff.
Cooking, washing clothes, family gatherings. Just by walking on the riverside, you get the glimpse of these people's life.

PHUKET (14.04.2018)

Phuket could be an intense town, with all the party scenes and ping pong shows, but for me it was just good music and good friends.

Me and my friend arrived in Phuket just before midnight, flying out from Suvarnabhumi Airport at 9 in the evening. Dropping our bags in the hostel, we went straight to see my friends gig down in the middle of the busy Bangla street of Patong.

The following days were just relaxing on the beach, watching more gigs in a couple of beach bars, and a lot of drinking.

SURAT THANI > KOH TAO (19.04.2018)

We left for Surat Thani on midday on an impulse.

My DJ friends had left the town so we see no more point in staying in Phuket. After some discussions about our further plans and getting breakfast, we went to a tour agency and bought a trip to Koh Samui. Sounds like the perfect (emergency) plan, isn't it?

It was after a long four hour ride to Surat Thani that we found out the boats to Koh Samui are not running because there are not enough people. That's when we impulsively decide, again, to go to whichever boats that is running. We boarded a slow night boat to Koh Tao.

The town of Surat Thani itself is a very relaxing one. We were waiting on the side of the port, big parks and a lot of street food vendors- my favourite.
“Ferry Koh Samui no there.”
“What other choices?”
“Koh Samui no there. Koh Tao ok?”
“Ok!”

KOH TAO (20.04.2018)

We arrived early in the morning and went straight to the beach.

Koh Tao is a tiny island in the Chumpon archipelago of Thailand. It's only 21 km², so after a while you get to know everyone in the island. It have a nice and relaxing vibe all around town, with a lot of people getting their diving license. People are so nice and chill. I got to know so many amazing people there.

There arent a lot of things happening during the day, but as soon as it turns dark everyone came out and partied.

And we party, hard.
Happy doggos.
(I didnt take much pictures of this place either, I was always out and about.)
Cheers to everyone I met in Koh Tao and I hope to see you guys again somewhere, somewhen in the future.

(Have some cheeky pictures of us.)
